Raccoon Heading Back To State With Rome Regional Title

Raccoon is going back to the Class S State Basketball Tournament following their regional championship win at Rome last night.  The Devils beat the hosts 41-38.  Michael Organ led Raccoon with 21, Caden Lamb added 12.  Raccoon is 19-7 on the year and will open up State Saturday morning at 9:30 against OLMC Herrin.

Also Saturday, Woodlawn will take on Marissa at 10:45, Albers and St Mary’s Alton at 12, TSJ Nashville plays Meridian at 1:15 followed by St Joe Olney against the winner from Region 10 at 2:30, Altamont Lutheran plays Bluford at 3:45, Wayne City and the Region 2 winner at 5pm and the final first round game Saturday will be at 6:15 between New Simpson Hill and St John’s Red Bud.

Tonight at Bartelso, the hosts take on Central City for that regional title at 6pm.  Wayne City beat Field 59-31 at Jasper.
