The Salem Community High School boys bowling team has brought home a state championship while Senior Charlie Hunter finished as individual state champion.
Salem ended the two-day tournament on Saturday at St. Clair Bowl in O’Fallon with 12,706 points or a 211.8 game average. Second-place O’Fallon finished with a 208.6 average.
Hunter finished the state tournament with 2,763 points or a 230.6 game average beating the second-place finisher TJ Czabaj of Lake Zurich who finished with a 223.6 average.
Salem’s other scorers include Senor Colton Shoemaker with a total of 2,763 points, Sophomore Rhett Detering with 1,949 points, Senior Nick Gregg with 1,880 points, Sophomore Silas Moats with 1,678 points, Senior Kannon King with 1,109 points, Junior Dominick Winkler with 415 points, and Sophomore Ryan Detering with 393 points.
