The Salem Wildcats fell to 2nd ranked Columbia at B.E. Gum last night 72-37. Dylan Murphy led the way with 24 points followed closely by Jack Steckler who poured in 21. Sophomore Sam Donald added 12. Connor Tennyson led the Wildcats with 12, Seth Bailey added 11. Columbia improves to 23-2 on the season while Salem will be back in action tonight as they head to DuQuoin.
Also in the Cahokia last night, Breese Central beat Roxana 47-32, Freeburg beat Wood River 57-49.
In the South 7, Carbondale beat Marion 58-47, Centralia 67-47 over Cahokia as the Orphans will play at the Pinckneyville Shootout today, Mount Vernon knocked off Althoff on the road 63-48 behind 17 from Rolen Adams which included 4 three’s.
Christ Our Rock is still undefeated as they crush Woodlawn 84-36.
Herrin came back and tied their game with Benton to send it to overtime, and finished them off 60-52 in a game that featured a brawl between players as well as fans that the refs would call an end to the game with 57 seconds left after several ejections.
