The Marion County Soil and Water Conservation District has announced after a two year absence due to COVID-19 their annual meeting and dinner will return this year.
The 78th annual event is planned for Thursday, February 16th, at the Marion County Fairground Exhibit Building. Doors will open at 5:30. The evening catered meal begins at 6:30. The catered meal includes fried chicken and ham along with mashed potatoes and gravy, beef noodles, green beans, corn, slaw and rolls. There will also be a variety of pies to choose from for dessert.
The program includes two district directors being elected during a brief business meeting. Selected area landowners and cooperators will be honored with conservation awards. The 2022 winning soil judging team, LUC 13 Envirothon team and poster contest winners will also be recognized. The evening will conclude with the presentation of door prizes.
Tickets are $10 and can be purchased from the District office at 1550 East Main Street in Salem. Tickets can be reserved by calling (618) 548-2230, Extension 3. The deadline to purchase or reserve tickets is February 10th.
