A pole barn used for storage at 925 Community Beach Road south of Sandoval sustained fire and smoke damage during a Monday fire.

Sandoval Fire Chief Chad Parson says upon arrival, there was heavy smoke and visible fire in the northeast portion of the 80 by 40 foot all metal building.

The interior of the building owned by Terri Huttes was brought under control in about 40 minutes.  The interior of the building sustained fire and smoke damage.

The State Fire Marshal was on the scene to assist in determining the cause of the fire.  The building did have electrical service and Ameren was called to disconnect power.

Sandoval called Odin, Centralia Fire Protection District, Centralia City Fire and Patoka Fire to assist at the scene, while Huey Ferrin stood by at the Sandoval Fire Station in the event of another fire.  Salem Firemen were also dispatched but canceled enroute.

There were no injuries.  Firemen were on the scene for about three hours beginning at 11:46 Monday morning.
