The Nashville Jr Hornettes won their Class M State opener at Rend Lake yesterday beating Unity Point 47-38. They advance to Monday’s state semifinal against Okawville who beat Red Bud 42-17. Goreville advanced beating St Clare School of O’Fallon 38-33 and Pinckneyville over Fairfield 44-14.
The Class L Tournament opens today at Rend Lake with Carriel and Wesclin at 9:30, Casey Mt Vernon and Waterloo at 10:45, Wolfe Branch and Mt Carmel at noon and then Carterville and Marion at 1:15.
That will be followed by the Class S Tournament opening round with Marissa and New Hope at 2:30, Bartelso and Woodlawn at 3:45, Pope County and TSJ Nashville at 5 and then Jonesboro and Breese All Saints at 6:15 tonight.
