A 68-year-old Mt. Vernon man has been sentenced to a total of 14 years in prison in Jefferson County Court on two counts of possession of child pornography.
Roy Staley had been charged with a total of seven child pornography charges, including two Class X offenses that accused him of reproducing child pornography. Those two charges were dropped along with three other possession of child pornography charges as part of a plea agreement.
Staley received a total of seven years on each of the two counts he pleaded guilty with the time to be served consecutively for the total 14-year sentence.
Staley was arrested in April of last year. The investigation began after the sheriff’s department received a tip about child pornography possibly being present at Staley’s home.
