CARBONDALE, Ill. (AP) — Lance Jones scored 19 points as Southern Illinois beat Chicago State 63-52 on Friday night.
Jones was 4 of 11 shooting, including 4 for 9 from distance, and went 7 for 8 from the line for the Salukis (8-4). Marcus Domask added 17 points while shooting 5 for 11 (1 for 5 from 3-point range) and 6 of 7 from the free throw line, and he also had eight rebounds. Trent Brown finished 3 of 5 from 3-point range to finish with nine points.
The Cougars (3-10) were led in scoring by Wesley Cardet Jr., who finished with 14 points. Brent Davis added 11 points and two steals for Chicago State. Jahsean Corbett also put up six points and six rebounds.
Southern Illinois led Chicago State at the half, 32-26, with Domask (nine points) their high scorer before the break. Southern Illinois outscored Chicago State by five points in the final half, while Jones led the way with a team-high 10 second-half points.
