6-7 senior guard/forward Dylan Murphy did not disappoint as he led his 4th ranked Columbia Eagles to a 62-32 win over visiting Salem. The Eagles defense was swarming and intense, with Salem only making 9 field goals for the game. Contrary to that, Murphy made 12 buckets on his way to a game-high 32 points. Sam Donald, Columbia’s 6-8 sophomore Point/Forward was also amazing on both ends of the floor and made some highlight quality passes leading to several buckets. Salem was led by Seth Bailey with 16 points. Salem is 1-6 and have dropped 4 straight as they will travel to 6-1 Olney on Tuesday.

Other games in the Cahokia saw Breese Central beat Roxana 54-18, Freeburg beat Wood River 75-55, Carlyle fell to Sparta 52-51, Wesclin 46-42 over Red Bud.
The SC Cougars dropped their 2nd straight game, falling at home to Altamont 72-45. Aidan Dodson had 13 for SC, Burgmann added 14. Avery Jahraus led Altamont with 25.
Centralia used an 18-4 third quarter to erase a 12 point halftime deficit and they would go on to beat Cahokia on the road 69-61 in overtime. Also in the South 7, Marion beat Carbondale 53-51 also in overtime, Mount Vernon over Althoff 71-49.
