Lady Cats Get 22 From Gregg, But Fall To Columbia
The Salem Lady Cats (4-4, 0-2) fell at home to Columbia (5-3, 2-0) by a final of 44-33. The Lady Eagles used a 12-0 run and ended it with a 19-4 edge to turn a 6-2 deficit into a 21-10 halftime lead.
Sophomore Emma Gregg did all she could to keep Salem in the game as she made 8 of Salem’s 12 field goals in the game going 8-of-15 for 22 points, including 19 in the 2nd half. Karson Janny led Columbia with 18 and Sam Schmuke added 15.
Salem is off until next Thursday when they host Freeburg. Their scheduled game Saturday at home with Mascoutah has been moved to February.
CORLHS Makes It 7 Wins In Last 8 Games
Christ Our Rock moved to 7-3 overall and won for the 7th time in 8 games with a 48-33 win over Maryville Christian. The Lady Stallions moved to 3-0 in the Gateway Metro Conference. Bianca Adubato led Christ Our Rock with 15 and 7 rebounds, Reagan Pingsterhaus had 12 points and 8 rebounds, Chloe Carter had 11 boards. The Lady Stallions will host Marquette on Monday.
SC Knocks Off Ramsey
South Central got 24 points from Taegan Webster and 21 more from Brooklyn Garrett in their 64-46 win over Ramsey. Garrett was 13-of-15 from the foul line in the victory.
