Bobcats Get First Win Since 05 Over Centralia In Tight Contest
The Franklin Park Bobcats beat Centralia for the first time since 2005, in a tight game at the Bobcat Den with a final 44-42. Trey Clark dominated for Salem finishing with a game high 26 points including 17 of Salem’s 21 first half points.
The Bobcats took their first lead of the game with 4 minutes left and their defense would hold off the Tigers final drive at the end. Salem got 8 points each from Landen Maxey and Payton Gullion.
JaShawn Staples had 14 to lead Centralia with Kenny Bratton adding 13.
The Tigers are 7-3 while Salem improves to 14-4 with a home game against Casey Mt Vernon next Wednesday.
INW Routs Former Co-Op Partner
Irvington/North Wamac beat Grand Prairie 91-24 behind a career high 33 points from Azlynn Witthaus-Strait. Dameon Wooden added 18, Trey Bodein 14 and Jacob Heern 13. The Indian Eagles also won the JV game 42-39 behind a career high 22 from Jaxon Neal and 15 from Cooper Teaff.
OBC Trophy Night Tonight
Tonight is trophy night at the OBC Tournament at Odin. The night begins at 5pm with Odin and Selmaville for the consolation title followed by Willow Grove and Field for 3rd place at 6:15 and then the championship with Raccoon and Central City at 7:45.
