Jr High Boys Basketball – Bobcats Win 9th Straight, Rockets Lose In OT, Iuka & SC Falls

Bobcats Win 9th Straight Blowing Out Effingham

The Franklin Park Bobcats won their 9th straight game, knocking off visiting Effingham 59-28 improving to 12-3 on the season.  Salem jumped out to a 23-5 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.  Trey Clark led 10 Bobcats in the scoring column with 16, Landen Maxey added 9, Caeden Miraglia 8, Jaret Gibson 7.  Franklin Park will play for the 3rd straight night tonight when they head back to Benton to play Casey Mt Vernon at 5:30.  The Salem JV lost 35-20.  Kyler King had 11 in the loss for Salem.


Rockets Lose In Overtime

Selmaville lost an overtime thriller to Rome 47-46.  Rome got out on top early leading 24-9 at halftime, but Selmaville outscored the Hornets 18-3 in the 3rd to lead by 4 on 3 straight three pointers by Brendan Smith.  Wyatt McCarty led the Rockets with 14, Brendan Smith added 12.  Jaden Jones led Rome with 20 and Ryker Perigo had 14.  Rome won the JV game 21-20.  Jaxon Ward led Selmaville with 7 and Cory Cano 6.


Altamont Lutheran Beats Iuka

Iuka fell to Altamont Lutheran 67-36.  Kaeden Befolo had 23 points and 7 rebounds in the loss.  Parker Bell had 22 to lead Altamont.  The Rockets also won the JV game 51-23.  Trigg Aaron and Kaden Cripps had 6 each for Iuka in the loss.


SC Falls To Windsor/SS

South Central fell to Windsor/Stew-Stras 37-24.  In the loss, Colton Cartright led SC with 9 points.  The Falcons are 7-3 overall.  The SC JV earned a 17-11 win to improve to 9-3.
