Lady Cats Beat West Frankfort, Open Cahokia On Thursday At Central
The Salem Lady Wildcats overcame a game that saw 48 fouls called and 60 free throws shot, but in the end it was Salem winning at West Frankfort 57-47. Salem used a 21-4 third quarter to turn a 2 point halftime deficit into a 15 points lead heading into the fourth quarter. Emma Gregg had 18 to lead Salem with Alesia Keller added 16 and Kale Benjamin 7. Salem opens up Cahokia play at Breese Central on Thursday.
CORLHS Make It 4 Straight Wins With Inaugural Conference Opener
Christ Our Rock opened up its inaugural year in the newly formed Gateway Metro Conference with a 58-36 win over Edwardsville Metro East Lutheran. It was the Lady Stallions 4th straight win. Senior transfer Bianca Adubato nearly tied the school record for three point field goals made in a game, missing by one, knocking down 4 finishing with 20 points. Reagan Pingsterhaus added a career high 16. Christ Our Rock will play at Father McGivney on Thursday.
The Centralia Annies return to South Seven play tonight at Trout when they host Carbondale.
