Lady Cats Overcome Turnovers, Slow Start, To Beat Fairfield In Double OT

The Salem Lady Cats overcame a slow start and 27 turnovers, and freshman Jordan Kessler hit a baseline jumper with 11 seconds left in the 2nd overtime session to lift Salem to a 56-55 victory over visiting Fairfield.

Salem trailed 24-21 at the halftime break, and didn’t take their first lead until midway through the 3rd quarter.  Fairfield hit a big three with 11 seconds left in regulation to tie the game with the teams trading a bucket each in the first extra session.

Salem was led by Alicia Keller with 19 points on 8-of-13 shooting, Emma Gregg was 3-4 behind the arc and had 17 points.  Kayla Felgenauer added 6 and Ivy Donoho 5 but both hit huge shots down the stretch to help Salem to the win.

The Lady Cats are 3-2 on the season and are off until next Monday night when they travel to West Frankfort.


SC Gets Big Nights From Webster, Garrett In Win Over Ramsey

South Central beat Ramsey 60-31.  Taegan Webster led the Lady Cougars with 19, Brooklyn Garrett had 17 with 10 from Jalyn Michel and 8 from Brooke Cowger.


CORLHS Opens Pana Tournament 1-2

Over the weekend, Christ Our Rock opened their season at the Pana Tournament.  In the opener, they fell to the host Lady Panthers 46-25.  The Lady Stallions then fell to Olney 51-30 before beating Okaw Valley 42-30.
