In state football quarterfinals over the weekend, In 2a, Pana lost to Decatur St Teresa 37-12 and Althoff fell at Johnston City 42-32. Johnston City will play at St Teresa in the state semifinals next week along with Maroa Forsyth hosting Downs Tri-Valley.
In 4a, Carterville fell at home to Rochester 41-28, and Murphysboro lost at Sacred Heart-Griffin 51-13.
In 5a, Mascoutah lost to Peoria 36-21, Morris eliminated Mahomet Seymour 35-14.
In 6a, East St Louis still has yet to give up a point in the postseason as they rolled over Crete Monee 45-0. They will travel to Lemont in the state semifinals this week with St Ignatius playing at Prairie Ridge.
