Junior High Basketball: North Wamac-Irvington 3rd in Christ Our Rock Tournament; Raccoon’s Michael Organ breaks dad’s record

Junior High Boys Basketball Round-up:

The Franklin Park Bobcats boys basketball team tries to continue their solid play when they travel to Altamont Lutheran tonight to take on the Rockets. 

North Wamac Irvington boys were 3rd at the Christ Our Rock 7th Grade Tournament beating Nashville TSJ 39-16.  Cooper Teaff scored 24 points in the 2nd half and finished with 25 for the game including hitting 6 three-pointers.  They improved to 4-3 on the season.  They will play again along with the Varsity tonight at Field.

At the Summersville Shootout, Raccoon ‘s Michael Organ broke his father’s single-game scoring record of 41 points going for 43 in the Devils 70-68 overtime loss to Fairfield.  Organ also surpassed the 1000 point mark with his 36th point of the night. 

In other games from Summersville, Woodlawn lost to Casey 50-48. 

Junior High Girls Basketball Round-Up: 

The SC Lady Falcons are back in girls’ basketball tonight at Neoga.  Selmaville is at Woodlawn.

Over the weekend, New Horizon girls won 3rd place at the Christ Our Rock 7th Grade Tournament beating Patoka 37-12.  Annalyn Bass and Tillie Castleman led the Lady crusaders with 12 points each with Bass pulling down 14 rebounds.  New Horizon will play at Field on Friday.  Bartelso won the girl’s championship.
