Fayette County Clerk re-elected, contested county board races settled in Fayette, Clinton and Washington County

Fayette County Clerk Jessica Barker won easy re-election in Tuesday’s election. The Republican beat her Democratic challenger Iris Virden 6,286 to 1,688 votes.

In contested Fayette County Board seats, Republicans Casey Cameron (797) and Michael Butts (676) defeated Democrat Dawn Crain (366) for District Three. In District Four, Republicans Patrick Click (324 votes) and Ryan Tompkins (200) defeated Democrat John Cearlock (115).

In Clinton County, there were contests in two county board districts. In District two, the three Republicans, Bradley Knolhoff (2,121 votes), Holly Clark (1,759 votes) and Greg Riechman (1,562), won all three seats. They beat Democrats Bryan Wessell (1,442 votes) and Phyllis Mensing (863 votes). In District 3, all three Republicans were victorious with Ann Schroeder finishing with 2,536 votes, Michael Strieker with 2,498 votes, and Mike Hilmes with 2,312 votes. Not winning was Democrats Kenny Brown with 662 votes and Robert Brandkamp with 647 votes.

In Washington County, there were five candidates selected to represent District One out of the six candidates that ran. Those winning seats were Republicans Larry Unverfehrt (1,454 votes), Eugene Lamczyk, Junior (1,384 votes), Gary Suedmeyer (1,275), Rodney Small (1,275), and Democrat Kathy ‘Kate’ Muenter. A second Democrat Gera Sims (547 votes), fell short of claiming a board seat.
