The Centralia Orphans season came to an end as they dropped their 2nd round playoff game at home to visiting Morris 56-0. Mascoutah out-gunned Highland 55-42 and Mahomet Seymour over Metamora 44-28. This weekend in the 5a quarterfinal, Mascoutah hosts Peoria and Mahomet is at Morris.
In 6a, East St Louis earned their 2nd straight playoff shutout, beating Normal West on the road 40-0. They will host Crete Monee in the quarterfinals.
Collinsville lost their 7a matchup with Brother Rice 44-15.
Edwardsville lost their 8a game at home to Loyola Academy 49-21.
In Class 1a, Sesser lost to Camp Point Central 24-0.
In 2a, Johnston City beat Arthur 28-8, Althoff over Red Bud 26-14 and Pana quarterback Max Lynch was 14-of-15 for 202 yards and 5 touchdowns to go with 20 carries for 267 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Panthers 68-50 win over Fairfield. Fairfield QB Eric Rodgers had 6 total touchdowns on the day in the loss. In the quarterfinals, Pana is at Decatur St Teresa and Althoff plays at Johnston City.
In 3a, Roxana lost to Fairbury Prairie Central 41-20 and Mt Carmel fell to Tolono Unity 35-14.
In 4a, Breese Central lost at Rochester 42-0, Carterville shutout Coal City 22-0, Murphysboro over Macomb 20-16 and Waterloo lost to Sacred Heart Griffin 28-16. This weekend, Carterville hosts Rochester and Murphysboro is at Sacred Heart Griffin.
