The volleyball sectional finals were held last night.
In Class 1a at Webber, St Anthony fell to NCOE 21-25, 25-22, 11-25. Windsor/Strew-Stras dropped their match to the hosts at St Thomas More 21-25, 24-26. The Super Sectional will be held at Christ Our Rock on Friday featuring NCOE and Trico starting at 6:30.
Freeburg improved to 32-7 as they beat Fairfield at the Benton 2a Sectionals 20-25, 25-23, 25-19. They advance to the Fairfield Super Sectional on Friday when they will get Mater Dei after they defended their home court and beat Breese Central 25-23, 25-20. Game time at 7pm.
At the Centralia 3a Sectional, Taylorville won a tight match against Mascoutah 25-23, 25-22. The Tornadoes move on to Chatham Glenwood when they play Normal University.
O’Fallon won the 4a Normal Sectional knocking off Moline 25-16, 26-24. The Lady Panthers play in the Moline Super Sectional on Friday against Lisle Benet Academy.
