Gateway Regional Water Company to begin Modified disinfection process November 8th

The Gateway Regional Water Company has announced it will begin a modified disinfection process on November 8th.  The water district will be using Free Chlorine instead of Chloramines for its predominant water disinfectant.

Customers with health issues should contact their physicians with any health related questions. Beginning December 20th, Gateway Regional Water Company will switch back from Free Chlorine residual to their normal Chloramines’ residual for our predominant water disinfectant. This transition back to chlorine and ammonia treatment will be completed in about a week. Customers with health issues should contact their physicians with any health related questions.

Customers on Gateway Regional Water Company are: Village of Alma; Clay County Water; Village of Farina; Fayette Water Company; City of Flora; FMC Water Company; Village of Iuka; City of Kinmundy; Northeast Marion County Water Company; Village of Patoka; Raccoon Water Co.; Village of Vernon; Western Wayne Water Company; and Village of Xenia.
