Jr High Boys Roundup: Franklin Park Plays Tonight, Rome & St Mary’s Tournaments Underway, Selmaville Gets Hard Fought Win

Franklin Park Bobcats Head To Wesclin Tonight

The Franklin Park Bobcats head to Wesclin tonight in middle school basketball having not playing since their opening loss to Woodlawn at the Rome Shootout over a week ago.  Salem will also be in action tomorrow when they travel to Kinmundy to take on the Falcons of South Central.


Patoka Opens Rome Tournament With Win

At the Rome Tournament last night, Patoka opened with a 47-29 win over Opdyke-Belle Rive.  Brady Cain had 19 points and 11 rebounds; Kody Burks had 10 points and pulled down 7 boards.  Quentin Faulkner chipped in 11 as Patoka will play tomorrow at 6:15 against top-seed Woodlawn.

In more first round action at Rome Bluford will take on New Horizon at 5 followed by Waltonville and Rome.


St Mary’s Centralia Tournament Opens As North Wamac Gets Win

Irvington North Wamac opened St Mary Tournament play last night with a 48-36 win over Summersville.  Dameon Wooden led the way with 17, Azlynn Witthaus-Strait finished with 10 and Trey Bodine added 8.  They advance to Thursday’s semifinals where they get TSJ Nashville after their opening round win over Sandoval.

At the Centralia St Mary Tournament tonight its more first round action as Selmaville takes on Odin at 6pm followed by Willow Grove and St Mary at 7:15.


Rockets Knock Off Willow Grove In Regular Season Play

Last night in regular season play, Selmaville traveled to Rowkamp Gym and fell to Willow Grove 53-48.  Selmaville got 15 from Wyatt McCarty and 13 points and 14 rebounds from Riley Tate.  Brendan Smith added 9.  TJ Taylor led Willow Grove with 17, Sammy Hernandez 15 and Cooper Harnish added 12.

Selmaville won the JV game 37-6.  Walker Krank scored 10 in the win, Jaxon Ward had 8 and Eli Collier scored his first bucket of the year.
