Franklin Park & Centralia Win To Advance To Regional Softball Finals
The Salem Lady Bobcats are in the Region 8 championship after yesterday’s 15-0 win over Casey Mt Vernon at Rotary Field in Centralia. Morgan Honerkamp was great in the circle throwing a no hitter while striking out 5. At the plate, Mya Russell, Kendall Zimmermann and Brylee Pennypacker drove in 2 runs each. Salem will get the host Tigerettes in Thursday’s title game at 4:15.
Centralia advanced with an exciting 7-6 walk-off win in the bottom of the 7th after the Tigerettes had lost all of a 6-2 lead.
Selmaville Advance, Meredith Adds Name To Another Record
Selmaville beat Odin 15-0 in 4 innings to advance in their Class S Regional. Allie Hustedde had 2 hits including a double with 2 RBI, Kaolin Lewis had 2 hits with 3 RBI and 8 other Lady Rockets collected hits. Keira Meredith threw a no hit shutout striking out 10. She’s now tied with Lauren Burge with her 12th win as a pitcher. She also increased her single season strikeout record and sits at 190. Selmaville is 13-6 on the season and will face Patoka tomorrow.
