The Salem 10u Little League All Stars opened up their District Tournament at Lawrence County and came away with a 5-3 win over Olney.
Tied at 3 in the bottom of the fifth with two outs, Salem got RBI singles from Devin Jennings and Grant Squibb to secure the win. Ben Lux allowed 1 hit and 3 runs over 3.2 innings striking out 8. Tanner Purintun came in to close out the final 2 innings striking out 4 and allowing just 1 hit.
Jennings finished going 3-3 with 3 RBI. Eli Purdy had a hit.
The Salem 10u returns to Lawrence County tonight at 7pm for a semifinal game against Mt Carmel who knocked off the hosts last night. They will play Olney tonight at 5pm in an elimination game.
