SC Storm Dominate Light Up The Lake Tournament Over The Weekend

It was a clean sweep in Carlyle for the South Central Storm Softball organization this past weekend in the Light Up The Lake Softball Tournament.

First, the South Central Storm 07 team defeated the Storm 14U 08 team 6-5 to win the championship. The Storm 07 team won despite having just having 8 available players Sunday. Kyra Swift led the 07 team with two hits, including a double, with two RBIs and two runs scored. Lauren Johnson had a double and scored a run. Alli Lammers had a hit, RBI and run scored. Maddy Francois pitched four innings, allowing five runs on five hits with three strikeouts.

Peyton Jett had a triple, RBI and two runs scored for the Storm. Kinlee Thompson, Emily Rose, and Percy Reid each had a hit.

The Storm 07 team finished 3-0 on the weekend with a 10-3 win opening the tourney over the Storm 08 and a 2-0 victory over Carlyle on Saturday. Carlyle was then eliminated by Storm 08 17-5 to set up the all Storm 14u final.

Later that evening, the Sc Storm 18u finished off a perfect 5-0 weekend to win the high school division of the tourney. In the championship the Storm 18u faced off against the Storm 16u and got the 14-1 victory. Courtney Gibson led the 18u Storm with a pair of hits and 4 Rbis, Syndee Garrett had a double and 3 Rbi while Taegan Webster had a pair of hits and an rbi.

In the circle Garrett got the win only giving up 4 hits, 1 earned run, and 3 strikeouts. Rachel Warfel, Rylie Clegg, and Bella Waggoner all had hits for the Storm 16u who advanced to the championship after knocking off the #1 seed.
