Wildcats Improve To 12-2 In Summer Baseball League With Sweep At West Frankfort

The Salem Wildcats improved to 12-2 in the summer baseball league with a pair of wins at West Frankfort last night.

Salem opened with a 4-1 victory.  Salem got RBI from Gavin Zimmermann, Noah Nix, Drew Davis and Nick Gregg.  The Cats hit 4 doubles coming from Jalen Inlow, Nix, Josh Powless and Kam Wilkins.  Griffin Day was the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing 3 hits and 1 run with 10 strikeouts to only 3 walks.  Noah Nix got the 2 inning save allowing just 1 hit and striking out 2.

Salem easily won the nightcap 12-2 in six innings.  Isaak Williams tripled going 2-4 with 4 RBI.  Powless and Gregg added 2 RBI each.  Salem also got RBI from Brogan Gregg and Wilkins.  On the mound, Wilkins was the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing 1 hit and 1 earned run.  Powless got the final 3 outs.

The Salem JV will continue their summer schedule today with a DH at Teutopolis starting at 6pm.
