It was an exciting finish to Pony League action Friday night as Elks nipped Peoples National Bank 5-4 in walk-off fashion. The Elks Landen Maxey tripled on the first pitch of the at bat in the final inning to score the winning run.
Peoples got on top early in the first when Wyatt McCarty singled on an 0-2 count, scoring a run. In the top of the 6th and trailing, Peoples tied things at 4 on a Ben Ryan single. Jerret Rushing earned the win for Elks going 6.1 allowing 8 hits and 4 runs striking out 8. Max Vincent threw 2/3 of an inning in relief out of the bullpen.
Aaden Rostance was on the mound for Peoples going 3 innings, allowing 4 hits and 4 runs. Brody Collier threw the final 3.1 innings.
