The SC 13u Storm Chasers played the I-70 Prowlers at Brownstown High School last night. Using wood bats preparing for this weekend’s Quincy Wood Bat Tournament, it didn’t slow down the Storm Chasers offense in a 20-0 victory.
Payton Gullion and Austin Grieve led SC with 4 RBI each as they both went 3-3 and combined to score 5 runs. Trent Ingram and Hayden Prather added 3 RBI with 2 each from Garret Shumate and Carter Spitzner who homered. Luke Shumate doubled twice.
Luke Shumate, Harrell Prather, Avery Gullion and Garret Shumate combined to work 7 innings on the mound with 1 hit allowed, 14 strikeouts and only 3 walks.
SC is 20-9 on the season and will play in pool play at Quincy Saturday night at 6:15 and 8:30.
