At the Little League Complex last night, a walk-off double lifted Americana to a dramatic Major’s win over Rotary 3-2. Down 2-1 in the sixth inning, Colton Tockstein doubled on the first pitch of his at-bat scoring 2 runs and giving Americana the win. Tockstein went 4.1 innings on the mound allowing 2 runs on one hit with 9 strikeouts. Jaxon Ward was on the hill for Rotary. He surrendered just 2 runs on 2 hits over 5.2 striking out 12. Drake Rector led Americana with 2 hits. Kai Graham went 1-2 for Rotary.
Buds Minor League knocked off Lions 10-3. Nicholi Marhanka and Drew Consolino combined together on the mound for the win. Huck Mulvaney and Jax Schaubert had multiple hits. Minor League punched their ticket to the City Series with the win. For the Lions Scout Puricelli was 2-2 with a Double and an inside the park home run. Rhett Starnes was 2-3 with a double and Caleb Squibb, Wyatt Eagan and Carter Johnston each hits.
In softball Majors, Landers beat Bandy’s 2-1. Kinsley Gansauer had a hit and drove in a run with hits also from Grace Rau, Penelope Flanagan, Ava Reed and Ella Lee. Breana Pennypacker had 2 hits and scored a run with Gia Ward adding 2 hits and pitched striking out 2. Trisha McKenzie had a hit and run, Brylee Carter a hit, run and RBI with Alana Howe also driving in a run.
T&K Title beat Marion County Savings Bank 9-5. In the win, Caitlyn Bryan scored twice, Katee Sellers, Kenley Cripps, Maci Susmena, Bella Winchester, Rylee Wilson, Abby Gore and Ashlyn Jamison each scored a run. Brylee Pennypacker had 2 RBI and Winchester also drove in a run. Abigail Thompson pitched and struck out 8. In the loss, Kaolin Lewis scored 2 runs, Zetta Graham scored along with Bria Murray and Teryn Quinn. Murray and Lewis pitched and struck out 8.
In girls coach pitch, All State beat Rural King 15-3. Julianna Rushing had 5 hits including a double and home run. Briah Henseler also added a home run. Abbi Haines, Graci Green, Gwen Goostree, Ally Pryor and Adalyn Reynolds all had multi-hit games.
