Salem JV Uses Big 5th Inning To Beat Visiting Benton

The Salem JV Wildcats knocked off visiting Benton at SCHS Field last night 9-4.  Salem trailed 4-2 in the fifth when the Cats would plate 7 runs to take the lead.

Ayden Rose was the winning pitcher going 5 innings allowing 4 hits and 2 earned runs with 11 strikeouts and only 3 walks.  Aden Bass got the final 6 outs allowing only 1 hit.

At the plate, Rose went 2-3 with 2 RBI, Ryan Detering and Keaton Gullion each had 2 hits with Gullion doubling and driving home a run.  Salem also got RBI from Colton Shelton, Ryan Detering, Cody Beard, Braden Rector and Colten Starnes.

Salem will travel to Benton tomorrow night for a double header.
