COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Catcher Matt Donlan capped a six-run first inning with a grand slam and Connecticut stunned No. 15 overall seed Maryland 11-8 to win the College Park Regional. UConn (49-14), the region’s third seed behind the Terrapins and Wake Forest, took control early after Maryland (48-14) forced an extra game by beating the Huskies 7-6 in 11 innings on Sunday. All the first-inning damage to Maryland and starter Andrew Johnson (2-1) occurred with the bases empty and two outs. Johnson lost the strike zone, walking four straight batters to force in the first run. Sean Heine replaced Johnson and hit T.C. Simmons with his first pitch to plate another run. Donlan followed with his slam to right-center field on a 0-2 count.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Levi Usher hit a two-run single in the eighth, Cameron Masterman added a go-ahead homer in the inning and No. 12 national seed Louisville beat Michigan 11-9 to win the Louisville Regional. Louisville won three straight regional games, after a loss to Michigan on Saturday, to advance to the super regionals against Texas A&M. Usher went 4 for 5 with four RBIs and Masterman added three RBIs, including his fourth homer of the regional. Michigan started the game with three straight doubles to take a 2-0 lead, but Louisville scored seven runs with two outs in the bottom of the first.
LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) — Jessica Keller has been hired as an assistant coach at Nebraska after five seasons at Illinois State. Coach Amy Williams announced the addition of Keller three weeks after Nebraska confirmed it had parted ways with associate head coach Chuck Love. Love was suspended with pay in February and sophomore guard Ashley Scoggin was removed from the team the same week. The Nebraska athletic department has not said if the Love and Scoggin situations were connected. Scoggin has since transferred to UNLV

(AP) — Nick Lorusso smashed a bases-loaded single off the wall in the bottom of the 11th inning to send overall No. 15 seed Maryland to a 7-6 win over Connecticut to force a deciding game for the College Park Regional. The Terrapins and Huskies meet Monday afternoon for a berth in the Super Regionals. No. 9 hitter Kevin Keister rapped a one-out single in the bottom of the 11th off UConn reliever Devin Kirby. Jack Sullivan relieved and Luke Shliger singled on his first pitch. Sullivan plunked Chris Alleyne with his second pitch to load the bases. Lorusso drove a 1-2 pitch off the right-field wall to give the Terps the win.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) — Ben Metzinger hit two home-runs and a double, driving in five runs, to power Louisville to a 20-1 romp over Michigan in the Louisville Regional, forcing a Monday showdown for a Super Regional berth. The Cardinals took control early with a four-run first inning. Levi Usher had a two-run single after two walks and a hit batter loaded the bases with one out. Logan Beard added a two-out two-run single. Louisville added three more runs in the second on Metzinger’s first homer — a two-run shot — and Cameron Masterman’s RBI double.
UNDATED (AP) — No. 1 national seed Tennessee, No. 4 Virginia Tech, No. 5 Texas A&M, Texas and Notre Dame closed out their NCAA baseball regionals and advanced to the next round starting Friday. No. 6 Miami was the first top-eight seed eliminated. Tennessee beat Georgia Tech 9-6, never leading until it scored six runs in the ninth inning. Next up is a best-of-three super regional against Notre Dame. The Irish beat Texas Tech 2-1. Games Monday will determine the 11 other regional winners.
COLLEGE PARK, Md. (AP) — Chris Alleyne hit a two-run home run in the Maryland’s six-run eighth inning and the Terrapins beat Wake Forest 10-5 to avoid elimination at the College Park Regional. The Terrapins (47-13) play UConn later in the day in the championship round. Ian Petrutz walked to spark a two-out rally in the eighth that gave the Terrapins the lead for good. Bobby Zmarzlak hit a two-run homer to left, Kevin Keister walked on four pitches and then scored on a double by Luke Shliger to make it 5-5. Alleyne followed with a home run to give Maryland its first lead of the game. Pierce Bennett hit a lead-off homer in the fifth and a two-run shot by Brock Wilken in the sixth gave Wake Forest a 5-2 lead.
