The SC 13u Storm Chasers split a double header on Sunday. They opened with a 6-3 win over the I-70 Prowlers. Payton Gullion got the scoring going in the first inning with an RBI single. Sebastian Kruger homered and drove in 2 with Luke Shumate driving in a run. Boston Isaacs and Carter Spitzner each doubled. Luke Shumate got the start going 3 perfect innings, Austin Grieve and Kaiden Herrell got the next 2 innings of work with Avery Gullion striking out the side in the final inning for the save.
SC then fell to the SI Yard Goats 8-2. SC got a Garret Shumate home run. Austin Grieve went 2-3 with a run scored, Payton Gullion had a hit and walked with Avery Gullion getting the other hit. Isaacs got the start going 4 innings allowing 5 runs, but only 1 earned with 3 strikeouts. After Hayden Prather worked the fifth, Payton Gullion needed just 8 pitches to get 3 outs in the final inning. SC is 17-7 as they play a double header at Teutopolis next weekend.
