In Little League Majors at the Complex, Americana beat Rotary 14-7. The game was tied at 7 in the bottom of the 5th when Colton Tockstein doubled home the go ahead run. Rotary scored 4 runs in the 4th thanks to an RBI single from Kai Graham, a groundout by Robbie Petrea and a fielder’s choice by Jaxon Ward. Zane Applegate also drove in a run for Rotary. Tockstein was the starting pitcher for Americana allowing 2 hits and 3 runs over 2 innings. Kaden Cripps came in to finish the game. At the plate, Tockstein, Owen Tennyson, Davion Garrison, Cripps and Drake Rector each had multiple hits. Graham had a pair of hits for Rotary and Ward went 3 innings and struck out 7 in the loss.
Bud’s Minor League beat Lions 7-3. In the win, Benny Bryan had 2 hits, Nicholi Marhanka doubled and Tripp Garden added 2 hits. In the loss, Walker “Splash” Sherwin was 3-3 with a double and RBI, Rhett Starnes added 2 doubles and RBI and Kolby “Big Pimpin” Hempen doubled home a run. Scout Puricelli also had a single. Landon White, Hempen, Starnes and Caleb Squibb combined to strike out 7 on the mound.
In softball Majors, Landers beat Bandy’s 4-3. Chelsey Haines and Brylee Carter had a hit and run, Kinslie Parrish 2 hits and 2 RBI, Samara Simmons drove in a run. Kinsley Gansauer had a double, triple and drove in a run, Bailey Benzschawel – 1 hit (single), 1 run, Penelope Flanagan tripled and scored, Gia Ward drove in a run along with Breana Pennypacker.
T&K Title beat Marion County Savings Bank 12-11. Caitlynne Bryan homered and scored 2 runs along with Katee Seller, Kenley Cripps and Bella Winchester. Abigail Thompson, Brylee Pennypacker, Rylee Wilson and Maci Susmena each scored. Thompson was the winning pitcher with 12 strikeouts. For MCSB, Emma Jones and Bria Murray scored 3 runs each. Shelby Johnson, Zetta Graham, Talya Gowler, Gracie and Adysen Pracht each scored a run. Murray and Kaolin Lewis both pitched combining to strike out 11.
