In 1a prep softball sectional finals yesterday, Trico nipped Goreville 1-0 at Goreville. The title game at Casey Westfield between the hosts and Windsor/Stew-Stras has been moved to today at 1pm due to rain yesterday.
Freeburg won the Gillespie 2a sectional final with a 1-0 win over the hosts. Today in 2a, Carterville will host Pinckneyville while St Anthony takes on Tolono Unity at Maroa Forsyth.
In 3a regional title games yesterday, Marion won their home regional over Carbondale 3-2, Mt Vernon won at home over Charleston 3-2, Triad at home beat Jerseyville 9-6. Over at Highland, the Lady Bulldogs game with Waterloo has been moved to today at noon.
In 4a softball regional finals, Edwardsville at home earned a short game victory over visiting Collinsville 11-0 in five innings. Today at Belleville East it will be East versus West at 11.
