ST. LOUIS (AP) — The NHL’s Western Conference finals will begin Tuesday in Denver.
Darren Helm’s goal with 5.6 seconds remaining gave the Colorado Avalanche a 3-2 comeback win over St. Louis, ending the second-round series in six games.
J.T. Compher’s second goal of the night came on a power play and tied the game midway through the third period. Helm put the Avs in the conference finals for the first time since 2002.
Darcy Kuemper needed to make just 18 saves and blanked the Blues after Jordan Kyrou eat him midway through the second period.
Ville Husso kept the Blues in the game with 36 saves.
The Avs will host the Edmonton Oilers in the first two games of the West finals.
