In 1a regional softball championships yesterday, Woodlawn beat Waltonville 9-6 at Galatia; Windsor beat Hutsonville 3-2 in 10-innings at Oblong.
The 1a Sectionals open today, at Casey the SC Lady Cougars will take on the hosts at 4:30 followed by Edwards County and Windsor. At Goreville, Woodlawn takes on the hosts at 6:30. At Marissa it’s Okawville taking on Hardin Calhoun at 3pm followed by Marissa and Carrollton at 5.
Yesterday in 2a regional championship games, Mater Dei beat the hosts at Breese Central 9-4, Pinckneyville won at home over Zeigler 5-2 and St Anthony routed Paris 10-1 at St Joseph Ogden while Newton beat Staunton 9-3 at Vandalia.
Toda in 2a sectional openers, Carterville hosts Murphsyboro, Gillespie will host Mater Dei and St Anthony takes on Bloomington Central Catholic at Maroa.
The 3a softball regionals continue today with semifinals. At Highland it’s Waterloo taking on Mascoutah. Marion is the site for Marion and Herrin at 3pm followed by Carbondale and Olney at 5. Charleston will play Mattoon at Mt Vernon.
