SC 13u Fall In Extra Innings Of Chatham GMB Championship

The SC 13u Storm Chasers fell in their bid for a 4th straight GMB Tournament championship falling in the title game at the Chatham Tournament over the weekend 5-4 to the BNBA Renegades 5-4 in 8-innings.  SC trailed 4-0 early in the game, but in the 4th inning SC got a 2-run single from Payton Gullion who then stole 2nd and 3rd and reached home on a throwing error made it 4-3.  SC tied it in the 6th plating a run setting up the international tiebreaker rule in the 8th.  Gullion finished with those 2 RBI and run scored, Luke Shumate added an RBI with hits from Austin Grieve, Kaiden Harrell, Sebastian Kruger and Hayden Prather finished with 2 hits.

With the rain, SC got the first pool play game in on Saturday beating Tinley Park 7-3.  Spitzner, Isaacs, Harrell, Grieve and Luke Shumate drove in runs.  Sebastian Kruger singled and scored, Avery Gullion scored twice

Then had their game with Staunton moved to Sunday with the top 2 teams in the tournament then reaching the championship game.  SC knocked off Staunton 13-4 to advance to the finals.  Kaiden Harrell went 2-4 with 3 RBI, Payton Gullion and Trent Ingram drove in 2 runs each.  Grieve finished with 2 hits and scored 3 runs, Luke Shumate also scored 3 times, Boston Isaacs added a hit along with Avery Gullion.

SC is 16-6 on the season and will head to Rantoul this weekend for tournament play.
