Police Beat for Wednesday, May 11th, 2022

Salem Police have arrested 44-year-old Brian Cripps of Mills Cart Road in Salem was arrested by Salem Police for violation of an order of protection.

28-year-old Ethan Futhey of East McMackin in Salem was arrested by Salem Police for violation of bail bond.

Wamac Police arrested 29-year-old Preston Rinne of East Noleman in Centralia on an outstanding Marion County failure to appear felony warrant.  Rinne was taken to the Marion County Jail where he is being held in lieu of $10,000 bond.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department is investigating two felony theft reports.   A resident of the 23-hundred block of State Route 161 east of Centralia reported an ATV stolen from inside the backyard fence at his home.   A resident of the 3300 block of Old US 51 in Sandoval reported a lawn cart, snow blower, and some tools stolen from her property.

Salem Fire Protection District officials report a smoke scare at the Michael Dunbar home on the Alma Hatchery Road in rural Alma, but no fire.   Firemen were called to the Dunbar home around seven Tuesday night after an automatic fire alarm sounded and the residents reported a smoke smell.   The smell had dissipated by the time firemen arrived and nothing could be found.
