The Locust Street Historic Fair in downtown Centralia drew its biggest crowd in its 9th year on Saturday.
Community Development Director Gayla Harting says the crowd started arriving 15 minutes before opening and were still coming in as the fair was set to close at two.
“Just keeps growing, I think we are going to have to look for more room. we’ve had close to 80 car entries this year, again the 12 different food options, and close to 40 vendors out here. So our 2 blocks are completely filled up. It’s been a great day and the weather couldn’t be better. I think people have been inside because of the rain so much it was just nice to get out, walk around, and see some of your friends. It’s been wonderful.”
Harting says some vendors have already asked to come back and new vendors will be considered as the date for next year’s event moves closer. She notes they try not to have more than two of any particular type of item to allow for a wide variety.
