Centralia Police have made an arrest in connection with a large street disturbance near Howard and Franklin Streets early Saturday morning.

19-year-old Cedric Powe of South Brookside in Centralia was taken to the Marion County Jail for alleged aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, possession of a weapon by a felon, and aggravated assault.

Centralia Police were initially called at 2:30 Saturday morning to a report of a large fight with gunshots near the intersection. Once on the scene, police also reported a fast-moving vehicle almost striking some in the crowd.

Some of the same people are believed to have moved to the Industrial parking lot in Wamac about an hour later, where multiple police agencies were called to handle another large fight.

About 45 minutes after that call, Centralia Police were called to Johnson Street around 4:15 Saturday morning to about 40 people who gathered in that area.

There have been no reports of injuries following the series of incidents, but Centralia Police have not yet released any reports on the incidents.
