The City of Centralia issued 19 building permits in April totaling just under $398,000. The largest permit was the construction of a new oil well at 104 East 15th Street by John Prior at an estimated cost of $350,000. Centralia City Clerk Kim Enke says Prior still needs state approval for the project to move forward. She reports the drilling will be in a wooded undeveloped area.
There were three new permits issued for sheds, six for fencing, two for signs, one for a carport, and for a wheelchair ramp constructed by Mission Centralia at a home on Deerwood Park.
There were two demolition permits issued for the month. One was for a garage at 1224 South Walnut and the other for a shed at 300 Aaron Parkway.
