Hawks beat fading Warriors

UNDATED (AP) — The Golden State Warriors have lost more ground on Memphis for the No 2 seed in the NBA’s Western Conference playoffs.
 
Trae Young scored 33 points and Danilo Gallinari added 25 as the Hawks handed the Warriors their fourth loss in five games, 121-110. Atlanta took charge of the game at the end of the second and throughout the third as they outscored Golden State 43-16. The Warriors got within five points before falling three games behind the Grizzlies with eight games to play.
 
Golden State’s Klay Thompson finished with 37 points, hitting a season-high nine 3-pointers. Jordan Poole scored 24 for the Warriors.

— The Knicks closed on a 38-13 run to stun the East-leading Heat, 111-103. Immanual Quickley led the late charge, scoring 20 of his 23 points in the fourth quarter. RJ Barrett had 18 points for New York, which trailed by 17 with 11 minutes remaining before their game-ending spurt.
 
— James Harden and Joel Embiid each had double-doubles for the first time as 76ers teammates, leading a 122-97 thrashing of the Clippers. Harden had 29 points and a season-high 15 rebounds, while Embiid added 27 points and 10 boards. The Clippers scored the first five points of the game before the Sixers took control with a 21-2 run.
 
— Miles Bridges, Terry Rozier and LaMelo Ball each had 20-point performances as the Hornets won for the sixth time in seven games, 108-101 versus the Jazz. Bridges had 26 points and 11 rebounds, Rozier added 25 and Ball chipped in 21 for Charlotte, which wrapped up a 4-1 homestand. Donovan Mitchell had 26 points to lead Utah but missed two key shots in the final minute.
 
— The Timberwolves made up for a narrow loss at Dallas four days earlier by tightening up their defense and blowing out the Mavericks, 116-95. Karl-Anthony Towns had 20 points and nine rebounds for the Wolves, who moved a half-game behind idle Denver for the sixth seed in the West. Jordan McLaughlin’s season-high 16 points on 6 of 8 shooting helped Minnesota end a two-game skid.
 
— Kristaps Porzingis had 30 points and 10 rebounds for the Wizards in a 100-97 win against the Pistons. Deni Avdija added 21 points and 10 rebounds to help Washington sweep the four-game season series.
 
— Jalen Green had 23 points, including five 3-pointers, as the Rockets hammered the Trail Blazers, 125-106. Jae’Sean Tate added 17 points as Houston snapped its 11-game road losing streak.
