Bond has been set at $35,000 for a 21-year-old Washington, IL man who has been charged with seven offenses in Marion County Court following a domestic dispute that ended in an altercation with officers at the Centralia Police Station.

Brandon Lykins is accused of two counts of aggravated battery to a police officer, criminal damage to government property, domestic battery, aggravated assault with the use of a deadly weapon, obstructing identification, and resisting a peace officer.

Centralia Police Chief Greg Dodson says the series of events began at 8:17 Tuesday night when they received a 911 call from a woman who lived in the 100 block of North Beech.   She reported she was being held at knifepoint by a man who had cut her face with a knife.  The woman also said she had been held hostage inside her home for a half-hour.

Dodson says the suspect was gone upon their arrival.  After a perimeter was set up, Lykins was found on foot in the 100 block of South Washington Street.    He reportedly was combative and allegedly kicked an officer in the face at the Centralia Police Station and slammed the arm of another in the holding cell door.   Lykins also gave police a false name and claimed to be a juvenile.

Dodson said the victim’s knife wound was superficial and did not require hospitalization.

Lykins had the public defender appointed to represent him during his first court appearance.  A preliminary hearing is set for January 18th.
