An estimated 800 kids were helped with back to school supplies and backpacks at a giveaway held Saturday at the Calumet Street Christian Church in Centralia.
This is the tenth year Krystal Koch has put together the program.
“We’re just doing it to help the kids,” Koch said. “We want to make sure that kids go back to school prepared with everything they need for the year.”
A number of people in the Centralia community make donations to allow Koch to purchase all of the items.
Kids were lined up around the church on Saturday waiting to get their supplies.
