The first Back to School Blast held by the Freedom Church in the Westgate Shopping area in Salem provided backpacks and school supplies to 500 kids
Associate Pastor Cole Bailey was pleased with what they plan to make an annual program.
“Kyle Mann leads our outreach team here at Freedom Church. He’s been doing face painting in the community. He’s been at Fourth of July and Fall Festival. We’ve been doing wash days here. We wanted to make one thing to come together for all the younger generation and bless them as God has blessed us.”
In addition to the school supplies, the kids could play in the bounce houses and both parents and kids were provided a hot dog lunch.
