A new start-up industry is planned in Centralia.

Greg Winn, the retired owner of WBT, is starting Fabcoat, LLC in the former Centralia Industrial Power Coat building on Airport Road.   The business will also complete powder coating.

Winn anticipates starting in second quarter of next year with 15 employees, a number he expects to grow to 20 as operations gear up.

Now that the Centralia Planning Commission has granted a special use permit, Winn has been issued a building permit to add on a 6,000 square foot addition to the rear of the present building.  The building permit places the cost of the addition at $225,000.  He reports the latest state of art equipment has been ordered and is expected to arrive in April.

Winn and his partner sold WBT in February of 2020 to Nvent.   Winn says over time he has become bored with retirement.   His partner in WBT, Gary Turner, will also be his partner in the Fabcoat business.
