Salem High All Class Reunion pushed back to Spring

The Salem Community High School All Class Reunion has been delayed again because of COVID-19 and is now scheduled to be held next April.

Committee member Debbie Woodruff says while they had 500 registered so far for the event that was scheduled for later this month there were concerns with masking requirements.

“When our main event over the weekend is a dinner dance held at the community center, it’s really hard for people to visit with the sound of the band and masks on their face.  So we are hoping in the  Spring we will be able to meet and socialize without fear.”

Woodruff says there are two choices for those who have registered and paid for the dinner dance.

“We have a policy in place that allows them to leave their ticket money on deposit with us and that holds their place and keeps their ticket for the April event.  There is a cancellation policy, if you do want your money back we will do that but will hold a small portion of that back for the postage of around $2.00 because it is a huge expense with all that they send.”

Woodruff says so far 90-percent of those planning to attend are leaving their money on the books.

The new dates for the All Class Reunion are April 8th, 9th, and 10th. The same activities are being planned including a Friday night mixer and style show, and a
Saturday induction ceremony into the SCHS Hall of Fame, an All Class Variety Show, and a Dinner-Dance at the Salem Community Activity Center. Out of town
attendees are encouraged to return to their old church on Sunday.
