The Centralia High School Board has modified a policy to require all students not yet in high school to have a parent or guardian with them at high school events.
Principal Reid Shipley says recent issues have led to the change.
“We’re making the change due to some issues we’ve had the first two weeks of home football games with underage students disrespectful, safety hazards, running around. We’ve had this policy in place before; we’ve been a little bit lax on it the first two home games so due to the recent issues we are going to tighten the reins a little bit. The one major change to this policy is that we’ve included seventh and eighth grade when we used to allow seventh and eighth graders to attend without a parent or guardian.”
Shipley says the new policy will require all students under high school age to walk in and sit with a parent or guardian during the game
