A child setting a piece of paper on fire before placing it in a trash can outside the Tara Turner home at 1219 South Lincoln is believed to have started a small fire in the siding of the home late Sunday morning.
Centralia City Firefighters say the family was cleaning up their yard when the incident occurred. The visible fire on the outside of the siding was put out with a fire extinguisher before firemen arrived. Firemen then had to pull off several sheets of siding to get to the remaining fire under the siding. It didn’t spread to
inside the home.
The fire call came in at 11:38 Sunday morning.
