A 35-year-old Centralia woman has been charged with aggravated battery with a victim over the age of 60 following an incident on Thursday morning at her home.
Centralia Police Administrative Sergeant Steve Whritenour says they were called to the home of Nicole Johnson on South Lincoln to a report that she had thrown her 12-year-old daughter to the ground. Upon arrival, they found Johnson allegedly chasing the juvenile around the side of the home.
As the investigation continued, police allegedly found the woman’s 73-year-old mother-in-law laying in bushes outside the home. Police say the alleged victim allegedly had been pushed off the porch into the bushes.
Johnson was charged with the aggravated battery charge in connection with the incident involving the 73-year-old woman. She had the public defender appointed to represent her and was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bond. A preliminary hearing was set for September 21st.
The second new charge was filed against 23-year-old Scotty Adams of South College in Salem. He was charged with violation of an order of protection. Bond was set at $10,000. If released on bond, Adams was ordered to abstain from alcohol and drugs and follow all provisions of the order of protection held by the alleged victim. Adams was arrested by Salem Police on Thursday.
