Two COVID-19 related deaths being reported in South Central Illinois

The Illinois Department of Public Health is reporting two more COVID-19 related deaths in South Central Illinois.  They are a man in his 60s in Jefferson County and a male in his 70s in Fayette.   The deaths were among 30 being reported around the state.

There were 1,682 new COVID-19 cases around Illinois.

The Marion County Health Department is not releasing an update on Wednesday.

The Clinton County Health Department is reporting 13 new positives on Thursday.  There are currently 37 on home isolation and two who are hospitalized.

The Jefferson County Health Department is reporting six new cases and 23 currently on isolation.

The Clay County Health Department reported three new cases on Wednesday.

Another 104,777 vaccines were administered on Tuesday.  The statewide positivity rate for the past seven days remains at 2.3-percent.
